A detox bath is a useful and natural way to assist in the removal of toxins from the body. In this post we’ll discuss the types of detox baths, as well as my favorite ingredients for adding to the bath for the best detoxification.

Epsom salt or mineral salts are the most common ingredient in a detox bath. I find it useful to add essential oils, selected depending on what the goals are.
My favorite essential oils are from Essential Oil Wizardry. You can get 10% off your order with the discount code drs. Here are essential oils I recommend for a detox bath:
I’ve also added other ingredients to my baths facilitate detox, such as:
The ingredients are always chosen according to what we are trying to achieve from the detox bath.
A detox bath can last between 15 minutes to an hour depending on the temperature of the water. If you have access to a separate cold shower or cold pool, it often helps to alternate hot and cold. Meaning, soak in the bath for 15 to 20 minutes, then get in cold shower or pool for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat for up to an hour.
Foot detox baths can use the same ingredients as the body bath. You can also invest in an ionic foot bath that uses polarities to pull out toxins through the feet. You will see an orangy brown mucky solution after the toxins have been pulled out through the foot detox. This allows people to see the effects and proves to have immediate results.
Whether you are using the whole detox bath or the foot detox bath, you will find that it is very relaxing and restorative and helps reduce muscle pain, soreness and stiffness.
Overall a detox bath can reduce stress, calm the mind and smooth skin. Remember to stay hydrated and to balance your electrolytes. You can do this by adding a little Himalayan crystal salt to your drinking water. Bathing is one of the most enjoyable ways to detox!
